Teddy Pendergrass was a multi-talented musician, singer, and song writer that will be missed immensely by the music world. In addition to playing guitar, piano, and drums at a world class level, Pendergrass was writing and composing songs in soul, R&B, jazz, and gospel. If you haven’t gotten familiar with his music during his life span, he has left behind plenty of classic albums for us to enjoy. R.I.P.
Ghostface’s Ironman album features samples from many of the go-to choices for 90′s hip hop including Pendergrass – who has been sampled by other artists such as Mobb Deep, DMX, Big Daddy Kane, Cam’ron, and many more. “Camay” throws some grimey drums over Pendergrass’ “Can’t We Try,” using various loops and chops of the record.
