I was in the studio last week with Rsonist from The Heatmakerz, and I couldn’t help but bring up a certain song that he had produced for AZ on the album A.W.O.L. ”Never Change” is a special record to me because it reminds me of my homeboy Davaughn, who died a few summers ago.
“Although we homies and we no longer hang…You know you know me and that love still remain.”
With me going to college in Canada, and Davaughn frequently making trips out of town, we would often go long stretches of time without seeing each other, or speaking. No matter how long apart, every time we reconnected it was as if nothing had changed. He had a way about him that made you feel comfortable and at home in his presence, and I miss that. Rest In Peace kid.
