Fix You is a special type of record that doesn’t come around too often. It is believed that Chris Martin wrote it for his wife Gwyneth Paltrow, who was dealing with the death of her father. Musically, the track has a somber feel until the electric guitar finally joins in at the 2:35 mark. I remember seeing Coldplay live a few years back, and anticipating this moment the whole concert. Music at its most uplifting, and one of my favorite songs, ever.
“When you try your best but you don’t succeed. When you get what you want, but not what you need. When you feel so tired but you can’t sleep. Stuck in reverse.
And the tears come streaming down your face. When you lose something you can’t replace. When you love someone but it goes to waste. Could it be worse?”
